How we screen every deal

The Daily Souq isn't a generic Amazon deal feed. Every deal runs through a multi-step screening system before it reaches you:

What the badges mean

✓ Ingredients Checked means the product passed our ingredient screen — no flagged ingredients were found in the published listing, but the product does not claim certification. ✓ Halal Certified means the listing itself explicitly states third-party certification (for meat and poultry, that means zabiha/halal certified by the producer). We never show unverified meat or poultry — anything whose status we can't confirm from the listing is held back, not posted.

The Daily Souq uses automated, data-assisted screening to help identify products that appear compatible with our screening criteria. We are not a religious certification authority and we are not issuing our own halal certification. Product ingredients, formulations, seller listings, and certifications can change at any time. “Halal Certified” is shown only when third-party certification information is identified in the listing. Always check the current product packaging or certification yourself where it matters to you, and consult your own standard.

Automated screening will occasionally get something wrong. If you spot a problem, use the “Report a halal concern” link on any deal — we review every report and correct or remove the deal fast. That feedback makes the screening better for everyone.
